SOAR (Stand. Out. Act. Responsibly.) is a community coalition based in Northwest Tarrant County that focuses on educating students, parents, and the community at large about alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs issues that can impact our collective health and wellbeing. We champion a substance-free lifestyle through marketing and media campaigns as well as through community events. All community members – from youth to parents to senior adults – are welcome to join SOAR in empowering safe, healthy choices.
Hailey Bocanegra is the Program Director of the SOAR Coalition for Challenge of Tarrant County. She holds a Bachelor’s in Public Health from Texas A&M University and is passionate about finding new ways to inform communities based on their needs.
Hailey has experience advocating for young adults through mentorship. She has prior experience in creating and supporting programming to build confidence for young adults who are finding their path to success. She helped provide resources addressing the needs of a diverse set of young adults nationwide through an online mentorship application.
Hailey has earned her Community Health Worker Certificate through the state of Texas and is a current member of the CHW coalition of Dallas. She hopes to continue to learn and find new ways to help the communities around her through leadership, empathy, community, and cultural humility.
A coalition is a collaborative effort among various sectors of a community, united in their commitment to work together toward a shared goal of creating a safe, healthy, and drug-free environment.
