I Choose: AISD Students Influencing and Leading the Way

 The I Choose campaign was created in response to a citywide needs assessment highlighting concerns around vaping, marijuana, and THC misuse. While disciplinary actions and health impacts are real, the majority of Arlington ISD students are substance-free. This campaign challenges the misconception that “everyone is using,” celebrates students as influencers and leaders of positive change, and encourages parents to engage in meaningful conversations with their children. 

 Developed in partnership with SMART Arlington, UT Arlington, and Arlington ISD, I Choose features 31 students from across the district who represent the majority making healthy choices. Aligned with AISD’s 2025/26 theme, The Power to Choose, the campaign uses bold artwork, student voices, and community engagement to spark conversations at home, celebrate positive decisions, and empower students to see themselves—and their peers—as influencers and leaders.

 This webpage offers resources to support both parents and youth. Along with a gallery of student artwork, visitors will find a community testimonial, a prevention-focused parent guide, and more. By amplifying student voices, the I Choose campaign highlights Arlington youth as true leaders, while encouraging parents to strengthen relationships with their children through ongoing conversations and meaningful connection.
