Power 2 Choose coalition strives to support the Texas Christian University (TCU) community by providing tools that promote healthy choices to strengthen the mind, body, and soul for a best college life experience while creating a unique TCU story. The Horned Frogs campus culture promotes Power 2 Choose's efforts to heighten the knowledge of alcohol and drug misuse risks, adverse effects, and integration of community resources for continued prevention efforts. Power 2 Choose advocates for healthy lifestyle choices through promotion of strengths-based empowerment to grow personal and social responsibility.
McKenzie is an alumnus from the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) where she graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Public Health and is currently enrolled in the Master of Public Health program. While attending UTA she has continued to be actively engaged with student life and held positions as a PEER Health Educator for more than three years and Assistant Residence Director for an on-campus dorm, in addition to being a member of several student organizations and receiving the Maverick Distinction award upon graduation. If you choose to use a substance, it is important to "KNOW" the associated risks with those substances before consumption. It is recognized that decisions regarding substance use are not as black-and-white as "Just Saying No."
Many TCU students, community members, and gameday fans reduce risks of undesired outcomes by making intentional choices to either not to use at all, or by using specific strategies to protect themselves or others.
